You Were Built to Fly

The turbulence you’re facing isn’t a sign you’re failing… it’s proof you’re still in the air.

The Moment Everything Got Shaky

I remember the first time I really understood turbulence.

I had been learning how to fly—actually taking a few planes up with an instructor.

At first, it was incredible.

Being that high.
Having control.

But also…

A little terrifying.

Not because the plane wasn’t capable…

But because I wasn’t sure if I was.

Then something stuck with me that changed everything:

Planes are built to fly.

That’s what they’re designed to do.

And not just that…

They’re built to handle turbulence too.

The Truth About Your Life

That principle doesn’t just apply to planes.

It applies to you.

You were built to fly.

You were designed for:

  • growth

  • progress

  • success

  • movement

And whether you realize it or not…

You’ve been flying this whole time.

Think about it:

How many times have you thought:

  • “I don’t know how I’m going to get through this”

  • “This might be the thing that breaks me”

And yet…

Here you are.

Still moving forward.

Still in the air.

When Turbulence Hits

Then comes the moment we all experience:

Turbulence.

The shaking.
The uncertainty.
The loss of control.

And what’s your first instinct?

Grab tighter.
Panic.
Try to control everything.

But in aviation, that’s actually the worst thing you can do.

Because turbulence isn’t a sign the plane is failing.

It’s just part of the flight.

You Were Built for This Too

Here’s the truth most people forget:

You weren’t just built to fly…
you were built to handle turbulence.

As taught in the transcript, planes are designed with flexibility—so they can withstand rough air instead of breaking under it.

And so are you.

  • emotionally

  • mentally

  • spiritually

You have more strength than you think.

The One Who Sees the Whole Flight

Pilots don’t fly blind.

They receive guidance.

Warnings.

Direction.

And the same is true in life.

God sees what you can’t.

He knows where the rough air is.

He gives guidance—through commandments, through others, through impressions—to help you navigate it.

And even when turbulence can’t be avoided…

He’s still in control of the flight.

When You Need to Slow Down

Here’s a powerful lesson:

When planes hit turbulence…

They don’t speed up.

They slow down.

And maybe that’s something you need to hear today.

Sometimes the right move isn’t:

  • pushing harder

  • doing more

  • forcing progress

Sometimes it’s:

  • resting

  • reconnecting

  • simplifying

  • focusing on what matters most

The Faith That Calms the Storm

There’s a moment in scripture where Jesus Christ calms a storm.

But before He does…

He asks a question:

“Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?” — Mark 4:40

Not to shame them…

But to remind them:

Who was in control.

Anchoring Quote

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” — Isaiah 40:31

Practical Reflection

Take a moment and ask yourself:

Where is the turbulence in my life right now?

  • Stress?

  • Uncertainty?

  • Fear of what’s ahead?

Now ask:

Am I trying to control everything…
or am I learning to trust?

Today’s Daily Challenge

When you feel turbulence today:

  • Take a breath

  • Slow down where needed

  • Let go of what you can’t control

  • Turn to God for guidance

And remind yourself:

I was built for this.

Closing

Turbulence will come.

That’s part of the flight.

But it doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It doesn’t mean you’re falling.

It means you’re moving.

So don’t panic.

Don’t give up.

And don’t assume the worst.

Because you were built to fly.

And with God guiding your path…

You’ll make it through.
