Humility Points to God
True strength doesn’t need attention.
After years of hardship, Joseph was finally brought before Pharaoh to interpret a dream. Pharaoh believed Joseph had special abilities and asked him for help.
Joseph could have taken the credit. After everything he had been through, this was his moment to prove himself.
Instead Joseph answered with humility:
“It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” (Genesis 41:16)
Joseph understood that his abilities and blessings came from God.
Humility Reflects Light
Humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself. It means recognizing where your blessings come from.
The world often teaches us to seek attention and praise. But humility turns the spotlight away from ourselves and toward God.
Joseph’s humility allowed God to work through him to bless countless lives.
Reflection
Think about the talents and opportunities you have been given. Where did they come from?
How can you use them to bless others?
“Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand.”
— Doctrine and Covenants 112:10
