God Is Helping You Become Holy

Holiness is not about being perfect today — it is about letting God change you.

Have you ever felt like you are trying to do the right things, but you still keep falling short? Maybe you pray, go to church, try to be kind, or want to make better choices — but you still feel like you are not where you should be.

That is exactly why this week’s message matters.

In Leviticus 19:2, the Lord said:

“Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.”

At first, that can sound intimidating. Holy? Me? But the Lord was not saying, “Be perfect on your own.” He was inviting His people to become more like Him.

The children of Israel had left Egypt, but God was not finished with them. He did not just want to move them to a new place. He wanted to change their hearts. He wanted to make them His covenant people.

That is what He wants for you too.

President Dallin H. Oaks taught:

“In contrast to the institutions of the world, which teach us to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ challenges us to become something.”

The gospel is not just about checking boxes. It is not just about attending meetings, saying prayers, or doing religious things. Those things matter because they help us become more like Jesus Christ.

And here is the best part: God does not expect you to make yourself holy alone.

The Lord promised:

“I am able to make you holy.”

That means He can work with your weakness. He can help you change. He can forgive you, strengthen you, and shape your heart over time.

Reflection

Where do you feel the Lord is trying to help you become more like Him right now?

Today’s Challenge

Choose one small way to let God work in your life today. Pray sincerely, repent honestly, forgive someone, or act on one prompting.

Closing

You do not have to be perfect to belong to God. You just need to keep turning toward Him. He knows how to make ordinary people holy.
