Creating Space for God to Speak
Exodus 1–6 Teen Devotional
Sometimes the most important thing we can do is slow down enough to hear God.
Moses was going about a normal day when he saw something unusual—a bush that was burning but not consumed. As he turned aside to look, God spoke to him and said:
“Put off thy shoes…for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5)
Before God revealed anything to Moses, He invited him to recognize that he was standing on sacred ground.

Reverence Invites Revelation
God often speaks in quiet, peaceful moments—not in chaos or distraction.
In today’s world, it’s easy to be surrounded by noise—phones, music, notifications, constant activity. But when our lives are always loud, it becomes harder to hear the quiet promptings of the Spirit.
Moses had to pause, recognize the moment, and show reverence before receiving direction from God.
Reflection
Where in your life do you feel the most peace?
That might be a place where God can speak to you more clearly.
Sometimes it’s not about adding more to your life—it’s about creating space for God.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Today’s Challenge
Find 5–10 minutes today to unplug from distractions.
No phone. No noise. Just quiet.
Say a simple prayer and listen.
You may be surprised what you feel.
Grateful you’re here.
