Come Follow Me for Teens: The God Meant It Unto Good (Genesis 42-50)

In this episode of Come Follow Me for Teens, we study Genesis 42–50 and the powerful conclusion of Joseph’s story. After more than twenty years of separation, Joseph is finally reunited with the brothers who betrayed him and sold him into slavery. Now in a position of power as governor of Egypt, Joseph has the opportunity to take revenge—but instead he chooses forgiveness.

These chapters teach one of the most hopeful messages in all of scripture: that God can bring good even out of painful experiences. Joseph recognized that the trials he endured were part of a greater purpose when he told his brothers, “God meant it unto good” (Genesis 50:20).

This episode explores how Joseph’s life powerfully symbolizes Jesus Christ, why forgiveness is essential for healing and spiritual growth, and how trusting God’s timing helps us see His hand in our lives. Teens will learn that even when life feels unfair or confusing, the Lord can use our trials to prepare us for blessings we cannot yet see.
