God Has Not Forgotten You

Even when life feels unfair.

Joseph’s story begins with betrayal. His brothers threw him into a pit, sold him into slavery, and sent him far away from home. Imagine the confusion and pain Joseph must have felt. He had done nothing wrong, yet his life suddenly fell apart.

Later, when Joseph was working as a slave in Egypt, the scriptures say something remarkable:

“And the Lord was with Joseph.” (Genesis 39:2)

Even in slavery, Joseph was not abandoned by God. And when Joseph was later falsely accused and thrown into prison, the scriptures say it again:

“But the Lord was with Joseph.” (Genesis 39:21)

Joseph’s circumstances changed again and again, but one thing never changed—God stayed with him.

God’s Presence Isn’t Measured by Comfort

Sometimes we assume that if God is with us, life should be easy. But Joseph’s life shows something different. God’s presence does not always remove hardship—but it does bring strength, guidance, and purpose through it.

Joseph’s trials eventually prepared him for something far greater than he could see at the time.

Reflection

Have you ever gone through something that felt unfair or confusing?

Joseph’s story reminds us that even when we feel alone, God has not forgotten us.

“You are not alone, never ever. Remember, Jesus Christ is your strength. He loves you. He stands with you.”
— President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
