Ep. 56 Boundaries and Perfectionism

Perfectionism doesn't allow room for mistake and failure...The irony is the more we allow room for mistake and failure the more we move towards being more perfect than we were before.

Josh Downs

In this episode I'll share thoughts on one of the most dangerous and rapidly growing boundary problems in the world today, perfectionism. With the advent of all the ways we connect and be seen in the world today, especially through social media, the pressure of portraying a perfect life has increased exponentially, giving rise to an increase in perfectionism in society. Perfectionism is a suffocating way to live life…because it is the farthest thing from being authentic. Perfectionism does not allow room for mistake or to be seen making a mistake, which ironically is the very bridge we all must cross in order to improve and even begin to approach perfection.
