Ep. 57 Boundaries and People Pleasers

You'll never be able to please everyone, until are are bale to become a pizza, and since you can't become a pizza, you might as well stop trying to please everyone.

Josh Downs

In this episode I'll share a few thoughts on another serious boundary problem, the people pleaser. Born out good intentions, people pleasing sounds like a benevolent thing to do and be, but not at the expense of one's self. People pleasers do more for others out of fear of rejection, and a need for validation then out of true intention. People pleasers often are disconnected from their own feelings, thoughts and opinions and instead bow down to the demands of others at their own expense. Their boundaries are misaligned in that they often have no boundaries. When boundaries are correctly in place it allows for a person to be confident enough with who they are so they can give from a place of true authenticity, instead of pressure and fear.
